SUICIDE? Arte lang

ARTE!!

What is your notion about suicide? Have you think about it? Do you think it's a solution when things are against you? Will it be a good way to overcome your failures and down moments?

Suicide (Latin suicidium, from sui caedere, "to kill oneself") is the act of intentionally causing one's own death. Suicide is often committed out of despair, the cause of which is attributed to a mental disorder such as depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, alcoholism, or drug abuse.

Forget suicide! I hate the person who thinks committing SUICIDE and what I really most hate is that he gives up immediately! They are so WEEEEEAAAAKKK!!! Ugh! I’m sorry, but come to think of it. They DON’T THINK first about their love ones, they didn’t seek for God’s help and they easily fell from Satan’s trap!! (Grabe! so irritating).

Listen, suicide is not the alternative solution to our problems. We encountered it because there’s a purpose. God wants us to challenge our faith in Him and teach us to endure trials. Yes, I’ve experienced a lot of problems. It comes to the point that I lose hope in Him, but suicide never comes to my mind. But God is so great, His strong and so mighty and He never leaves me, He used my family and friends to support and make me feel that they loved me. I always put in mind that God never leaves us. I love myself and I’m thankful that God created me. I will never take for granted what He has given me. My parents taught me how to be strong in handling such problems and I admire their courage which I want to share with you guys.

SUICIDE should never exist in our minds. Always remember that GOD NEVER LEAVES US in the days that we need Him. In fact, He’s always on our side. We are not alone because we are surrounded by people who love us. He gives us challenges to face it so as to strengthen our faith. When we encounter the same dilemma, let GOD be the center of our lives.

deadLINE

Is there any instance that you were not able to accomplish a requirement on time and your teacher has not given you consideration? What will be the possible reasons that might hinder you to comply with a task on time? Do you think it is valid? Now, if we reverse things, what will be the reasons that you will be acceptable to you as a teacher from your students?

I’ve experienced missing deadlines and not been able to submit on time. I want to pass it, but there is nothing to submit or I just don’t want to do it!! Grrr.. Up until now, it happens. It is not easy to do all the requirements and pass it on time. Sometimes I a bit occupied doing the household chores, chatting with friends via phone call or online, lack of sleep and other things you can think of.

Sometimes I realize that I should train myself to meet my deadlines since I will be a TEACHER someday. I know what a teacher feels like when her students don’t pass on time (hassle, stress, little irritated) Isn’t it? Haha!!

Memoirs of MEMORIZATION

(I love it!)

What is your comment about memorization? Do you think you need to memorize? Why or why not? When do you think memorization is appropriate and not appropriate?

Memorization is the process of committing something to memory. The act of memorization is often a deliberate mental process undertaken in order to store in memory for later recall items such as experiences, names, appointments, addresses, telephone numbers, lists, stories, poems, pictures, maps, diagrams, facts, music or other visual, auditory, or tactical information. Memorization may also refer to the process of storing particular data into the memory of a device.

Blah, blah, blah… Whatever Wikipedia. Haha!!! For me, memorization S**KS!
Because I’m not good at it! Haha!! I don’t know why. But I’m sure that memorization helps a lot. It is appropriate to memorize certain things, like names, numbers and even the important things you’ve learned from your subjects. Right? There are also things that it is not appropriate. Sometimes memorization isn’t good since it take up a lot of time and effort. Well you might get information load and when the day of test comes, there’s a big possibility of mental blockage.

What is education to you? How did you treat education and learning? Are you like Rancho that you are in college for the "joy of learning"? Also, how did you know that you have learned?

Education in its broadest, general sense is the means through which the aims and habits of a group of people lives on from one generation to the next.  Generally, it occurs through any experience that has a formative effect on the way one thinks, feels, or acts. In its narrow, technical sense, education is the formal process by which society deliberately transmits its accumulated knowledge, skills, customs and values from one generation to another.

Learning is acquiring new, or modifying existing, knowledge, behaviors, skills, values, or preferences and may involve synthesizing different types of information. It is not compulsory, it is contextual. It does not happen all at once, but builds upon and is shaped by what we already know. To that end, learning may be viewed as a process, rather than a collection of factual and procedural knowledge.

In my own perspective, Education is a piece of puzzle that should connect with the other parts to build/ form a complete educated person. As told by parents, only education is a treasure that cannot be taken by others. In Learning, you've learned through experiences and how you overcome the trial.

In the movie, I’m like Rancho (my crush) who finds joy in learning. When I was in my 1st  year college, I really don’t know if I really love my course (SPED), actually I don’t know what I like to get. But as time goes by, I've realized that what I took was special. I can help people who have disability or handicapped. And that’s the time I enjoyed to learn more things. With the support of my friends and family and also the children who are hoping to help them, all the stresses and problems that I faced in my subjects or even in my life, were GONE! Because I believed, the more stresses who've overcome, the more you succeed in life. Oh yeah that’s great!

I am proud when I applied what I've learned in my subjects. I want to share my experiences. When somebody asks me, “What is the meaning of ADHD, its causes and etc?” I am able to answer it. I want to show them that they have asked the right person. And when I’m going to observed students from SPED, I’ve applied things that I should do to finish their work and then I’ve realized that I’ve learned by applying it.

To all, please let us value what we learned from school and even in our experiences. Because Education is a life-long process, each day, hours, every minutes and even seconds of our life, we learn and discover new things. So friends, continue to learn and educate others.
Let’s be E-D-U-C-A-H-O-L-I-C!

Ms. Esteban?

I have a professor, she’s sort of Virus. Every time she would call my surname “Ms. Esteban” for recitation, I would always says to my co-educators silently, “Yan nanaman po siya mga kaibigan, kapamilya at kapuso” or ”Ako nanaman?”. Because we were only 11 beautiful ladies in the class. Her questions were hard to answer when you’re called but only then you will realize that the answer was easy. If we weren’t able to answer correctly, she would give us an “X” mark in the student’s list and would say, “Miss, ang dami mo ng X dito. Di ka pa sumasagot ng tama/ puro ka pass”. When she’ll give us activities and homework, be sure that you would pass it on time or else, you will receive a half grade. In reporting, be sure to cite examples and references because you might be questioned a lot. So we must better read and understand our report and get ready whenever she asks. And oh! Don’t forget to PRAY, because God will help you to create miracles. Amen.

My professor is one of the educators who handle our major subjects. So it was very stressful (to the HIGHEST level). My brain run so fast to think the right answer to her questions and do all of the requirements she would asked us to do. I don’t know what happened, but I just finished my subjects to her for this school year (2011-2012) ONLY! I just always pray to GOD to please give me wisdom, knowledge, understanding and strength to finish and pass my subjects. Also to my loving family and mates who always show support and help for me not to fail in my subjects.

But most of all, I would like to congratulate myself in finishing my subject to her in this school year (Wohoo!). I’ve realized that whatever our professor did was for our own sake. She didn’t want to spoon feed us instead she wants us to challenge and develop our way of thinking to be more mature and broad. I know that she wants to train us by giving us requirements like what a teacher always faces.

3 idiots

Dear friends, I just wanna share to you the story of my favorite movie, 3 idiots. And yeah! I've just copied it on website. :)

PLOT

Farhan Qureshi (R. Madhavan), Raju Rastogi (Sharman Joshi) and Ranchoddas Shamaldas Chanchad "Rancho" (Aamir Khan) are three engineering students who share a room in the residence of Imperial College of Engineering (ICE). Farhan is studying engineering to pursue his father's wishes over his own wish — to become a wildlife photographer. Raju is studying to raise his family's fortunes and get them out of poverty. On the other hand, Rancho studies for his simple passion in machines and devices. Rancho believes that success in studying is not achieved by solely memorizing definitions given by textbooks or professors, but by understanding and applying the concepts. He believes that one should follow excellence, not success, as success will come itself if excellence is followed.
However, this different approach is sneered upon by the faculties, including the dean of the college, Professor Viru "Virus" Sahastrabudhhe (Boman Irani). In contrast, Virus' favorite student, Chatur "Silencer" Ramalingam, (Omi Vaidya) believes in mindless memorizing over understanding, in order to reach his goals of corporate and social status. Meanwhile, Rancho falls in love with Virus' medical student daughter Pia (Kareena Kapoor) when he, Raju and Farhan accidentally crash her sister's wedding banquet to obtain a free meal, which infuriates Virus. Virus labels Rancho and his friends as "idiots" and continually attempts to break Rancho's friendship with Farhan and Raju.
Things further escalate when the three friends drunkenly break into Virus's house one night to allow Rancho to confess his love to Pia, and urinate on the front door before fleeing. The next day, Virus threatens to rusticate Raju unless he squeals on Rancho. Not wanting to betray his friend or let down his family, Raju attempts suicide and ends up paralyzed. Following his recovery, Raju discards his fear of the future. Encouraged by Rancho, both Raju and Farhan gain courage to do what they were afraid to do before. Raju takes a frank approach in an interview for a corporate job, while Farhan convinces his parents to allow him to pursue his love of wildlife photography, both successful in their endeavors.
When Virus discovers that Raju successfully obtained a job offer, he conspires to prevent him from getting the job by creating an exam paper so tough that will deliberately fail Raju. When Pia learns of his plan, she helps Rancho and Farhan by providing them with the keys to her father's office. However, Virus catches them and expels them on the spot. Pia angrily confronts him, revealing that his son, Pia's brother, committed suicide when he could not get into ICE, like Virus demanded, even though he had no interest in engineering and instead wished to be a writer. At the same time, Pia's pregnant older sister Mona (Mona Singh) goes into labor. A heavy rainstorm cuts all power and floods the streets, making it impossible for the ambulance to reach Mona, and Pia is stuck at her hospital, where she had fled. Rancho, Farhan and Raju come to the rescue, along with other students from ICE. Over phone and webcam, Pia instructs Rancho to deliver the baby via VOIP. After the baby is apparently stillborn, Rancho resuscitates the baby by leading the students in saying "All is well". Virus reconciles with Rancho and his friends, and allows them to stay for their final exams.
Their story is framed as intermittent flashbacks from the present day, ten years after Chatur bet that he'd become more successful than Rancho. Having lost contact with Rancho, who disappeared during the graduation party and went into seclusion, after five years, Raju and Farhan begin a journey to find him. They are joined by Chatur, now a wealthy and successful professional in the USA, who is looking to seal a deal with a famous scientist and prospective business associate named Phunsukh Wangdu. When they find Rancho's house in Shimla, they find a completely different man: the real Rancho (Jaaved Jaffrey).
From him, they come to know that their friend was a destitute servant boy "Chhote" who loved learning, while he, the real Rancho, disliked study. After seeing the boy's intelligence, the family agreed to let the servant boy study in Rancho's place instead of laboring. In return, the real Rancho would pocket his qualifications and after graduating, the servant boy will cease all contact. The real Rancho reveals that Chhote is now a schoolteacher in Ladakh. At the same time, they find out that, without Rancho, Pia decided to marry the same price-obsessed banker that Rancho initially talked her into dumping, and they go to rescue her from the wedding.
Raju and Farhan find Pia and arrive at Rancho’s school. Pia and the fake Rancho rekindle their love, while Chatur mocks Rancho for becoming a lowly schoolteacher. He asks Rancho to sign a "Declaration of Defeat" document. When Rancho's friends ask what his real name is, he reveals that he is actually Phunsukh Wangdu himself. Chatur finds out about this and is horrified; he accepts his defeat and pleads his case with Phunsukh to establish the business relationship he was after.
